“It was created from my previous research on social themes, among which was the identity of woman in fundamentalist society and it can be interpreted in many different ways.
The contrast between the uncovered breast and covered face expresses the fine line between the public (the face) and the private (the breast) and represents the first impact. The impact of the woman’s breast being uncovered instead of her face is further emphasized by the closed window. This closed window represents the boundaries of the most private of places.
Finally, there is the absence of a relationship which is the result of any type of closure. I don’t think that this form of expression can be anything more than the aesthetic form of a tragedy. Isn’t that what art is for?”
