Joel Pelerin was born in 1949 and he is lives in Indian Ocean, in Reunion Island off the east coast of Africa near Madagascar. He wanted to enhance the beauty of ethnic mix. He was invited to present the Beauty of Réunionese metissage at the Durban Film Festival in South Africa, and as a curtain raiser to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in May 2007.
Another exhibition travelled from Johannesburg South Africa in december 2007 to Calgary (Canada) in february 2008, showing the grace, the beauty, the diversity and the warmth of the women of Reunion Island.
